Wine Life

Take a Sip of the Wild Side with Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is the classic wine of choice for anyone seeking a crisp, refreshing style. Don’t be fooled, however. Sauvignon Blanc is nothing like a one-note wonder. Its taste varies greatly depending on where it’s grown, showing a range of flavors from tart and flinty with green herbal notes to more opulent, expressive, and fruity variations. It’s an exciting grape variety to explore. I’ve narrowed down a few for you to sip on along with delicious food pairings to indulge.

What Wine to Drink with Oysters

Oysters are as complex as the wines that accompany them. Simultaneously salty and sweet, buttery and minerally, the world really is your oyster when it comes to pairing these mollusks with wine. Just like there is more than one way to shuck and eat an oyster, there are many different wines to pair. When pairing oysters with a particular wine, ask yourself what you want to highlight. Do you enjoy eating them fresh from the shell, or slightly cooked? Do you enjoy them for their salty and briny nature, or do you want to highlight their buttery and creamy qualities? No matter how you intend on enjoying them, there is a perfect wine just waiting to be opened and enjoyed.

How To Throw The Ultimate Backyard Barbecue

The weather is warming up, which can only mean one thing: It’s barbecue time! Of course, not everyone is a natural born grillmaster. For some, the thought of picking up the torch — literally and figuratively — can be pretty overwhelming. If you’re worried about having what it takes to be the ultimate BBQ host, don’t fret. Think about your hosting responsibilities in easy-to-break-down chunks to make planning a little easier (and a whole lot more fun)!
